AGJA congratulates Athaliah Molokomme on her appointment as Permanent Representative of Botswana to the UN office at Geneva

The Africa Group for Justice and Accountability (AGJA) and the Wayamo Foundation wish to warmly congratulate Athaliah Molokomme on her appointment as the Permanent  Representative of Botswana to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

As the former Attorney General of Botswana and a founding member of the AGJA, Dr  Molokomme has been a tireless advocate for justice and accountability across the African  continent.

She is universally recognized as an unwavering stalwart of human rights, gender equality and  international criminal justice. Under her leadership, Botswana consistently expressed its  unequivocal support for the International Criminal Court (ICC), and justice for victims of  international crimes, remaining true to its principled position – often against a chorus of  regional dissent.

The Africa Group for Justice and Accountability looks forward to its continued work with  Ambassador Molokomme in the coming months and years. We wish her success in her new  post, from where we are confident she will use the opportunities available to continue her  efforts in promoting respect for human rights and the rule of law.
